What's your BRAND??

Olaa My People….
I had a breakfast presentation to attend to this morning and it's kept me quite busy… so if you thought I got tired writing – pole sana!!! :p for you who mailed to find out about today's blog – apologies and I'm glad to know I already got fans who follow "me" blog….. Much appreciated and if we do get to meet I owe you chocolate : ) errmmm if you extra nice it'll be a classy bar :p

That said – I got to learn a lot in today's BRAND presentation. Won't get much in details but will highlight a few things that I thought it's useful to share…..

A BRAND – IS NOT YOUR COMPANY
A BRAND – IS NOT A PRODUCT / SERVICE
A BRAND – IS NOT A LOGO

So what is a BRAND???? A brand is a fusion of Emotional / Functional components of a product / service.

The second thing I want to share is what holds your company / organization / Brand for this matter??? Most people will say financial support (which trust me play a huge role), proper structure, catchy name or logo / location of your business etc…. well these could play a role but the main glue that holds a company is BELIEVES and VALUES!!! People die, structures fall out of place and machineries wear out but a BRAND with principle lives.

I am a brand… You are a brand of yourself. Feel free to email me for more information on Brands…its free ;)

Yesterday I received a complaint from one of FluidFan on our facebook page. He complained about the print washing off especially on our signature logo on the sleeve. What surprised me was it was the United Kenya tee that for us was among the best productions we've ever had… this freaked me out honestly and if he does read this, he'll vouch for this; 5minutes was a lot of time; I emailed him ASAP wanting to know more and how it happened. I made sure I did was to appreciate his honest feedback – this is what will help us improve – FEEDBACK either positive or negative is healthy for your BRAND!!! We are finding ways to replace as he lives in Dubai!!!!
LESSON: accept criticism in your everyday life it will help mould you and what you do for the best!!! always be HONEST!!!

+/- sensitive
This part is getting a little more interesting…. Check out yesterday's comments that were posted both on my profile and on this blog!!! : ) you guys ROCK!!!!

Today Pius and I would like you to know your views on:

Who should initiate a relationship a BOY or GIRL???
(note: in today's modern life)

  3. As a client one of the most important things ofr me from companies and organizations is honest and straight forward feedback. I hat lies and clever strategies, if a brand/company promises something I want what they promised or an honest answer and a solution we can work out together in partnership

  4. The most important thing in company, its workers then its clients. If you can't treat your workers well, trust me you have undermined your brand so much, you will not know what hit you! Only after your workers are set will your clients follow suit.

  5. Pius, Yup either positive / negative its healthy yet sensitive :p

Don Sid Kachumbari - st things first - your name is AWESOME - unique different and it can be a BRAND :p mail me ;)

mmnjug - i cant agree more... but as a business entrepreneur i'l advise you 1 thing - never show your weakness by relying fully on your workers.... as much as you need them, they need you.... always a two way traffic.
A good example is when KQ went on the longest strike ever - they resumed back to work without any demands met. Reason? it was their loss eventually - the MD Titus is one amazing leader. he handled the pressure, stress and threats in a very calm way and was ready to hire a whole new team to replace those who decided to strike..... that said, it shows how important it is we all play our roles and keeping in mind we are not doing anyone favors.....

  6. Such an informative article...

The whole world's A critic, so if the criticism is justified, learn 4rm it & if it untrue disregard, simple!!! Honest feedback has a cumulative effect, as good feedback is essential to growth.

well, certainly a Boy should initiate as it is they are courageous, outspoken, competent, strong 4rm early childhood while Girls are raised to believe that they are timid, shy & weak.

  7. ahmed - Have you realised that most companies with unionised workers suffer the most downtimes and lost man-hours? Am not demonising unions, but i have this feeling that at this age and time, they are doing more harm than good. Can you imagine such theatrics happening at Safcom, EABL, Bamburi, Google, MicroSoft.......? Unbelieveble isn't it?

The problem is that most unions take their member employers are cash cows to be milked till they are dead......... thats why I liked Naikuni's mind-games with the cabin-crew....

I still believe that workers are the greatest asset a company can have and treating them well is of paramount importance.
